एकं नाम केदारस्य पापहन्तुं समर्थम् ॥ — Ancient scripture on the glory of the Char Dhams
The Char Dham Yatra is India's most revered pilgrimage circuit, believed to wash away the sins of a lifetime and liberate the soul from the cycle of rebirth. The four sacred shrines — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath — are nestled among some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas.
Every year, millions of devoted pilgrims undertake this transformative journey. Our carefully crafted 12-day itinerary ensures you experience each dham in complete serenity, with ample time for darshan, meditation, and prayer.
Our experienced guides accompany you through every step — from the Aarti at Gangotri to the sacred Jyotirlinga darshan at Kedarnath. We handle all logistics, accommodation, and transport so you can focus entirely on your spiritual journey.
The yatra begins from Haridwar, itself a sacred city on the banks of the Ganga, and concludes with a blessing from the divine. Spaces are limited — plan early for auspicious dates.
Sacred Gateway to the Himalayas
Arrive at Haridwar — the sacred city where the Ganga descends from the mountains to meet the plains. Check into your hotel and attend the mesmerising Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in the evening. The ghats glow golden as thousands of diyas float on the sacred river.
Begin the ascent — Yamunotri route
Early morning drive through the scenic Uttarakhand hills toward Barkot — the base for Yamunotri Dham. Pass through Mussoorie and enjoy breathtaking Himalayan vistas. Evening free for rest and preparation for the next day's trek.
First Dham — Source of the Yamuna
Trek 5km to the sacred Yamunotri temple at 3,293m. Cook rice in the thermal springs (Surya Kund) as prasad — a unique tradition at this dham. Seek blessings from Goddess Yamuna and experience the divine purity of the river's source.
On the route to Gangotri
Drive through the beautiful Bhagirathi valley to Uttarkashi — the city of Shiva. Visit the Vishwanath temple here. Overnight stay before tomorrow's visit to Gangotri.
Second Dham — Origin of the Holy Ganga
Reach Gangotri at 3,048m — where Goddess Ganga is said to have descended to earth. The temple, surrounded by silver-capped peaks, is one of the most spectacular sights in the Himalayas. Take a holy dip at the Bhagirathi ghats and participate in the Aarti.
Route to the abode of Kedarnath
A scenic drive through the Rudraprayag district to Guptkashi — the sacred town near Kedarnath. Visit the Vishwanath temple at Guptkashi. Rest and acclimatise for the Kedarnath trek tomorrow.
Third Dham — The Abode of Shiva (3,583m)
The spiritual pinnacle of the yatra. Drive to Sonprayag, then trek or take a pony 16km to Kedarnath. Seek the blessings of the ancient Jyotirlinga shrine — one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple stands against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath peak.
Journey to Vishnu's abode
Descend from Kedarnath and drive through beautiful terrain to Badrinath. Pass through Joshimath — the winter seat of Badrinath. Arrive in time for the evening Aarti at the temple.
Fourth Dham — Vishnu's Himalayan Throne
Wake up for the pre-dawn Abhishek ceremony and morning darshan of Lord Badrinath — a form of Vishnu. Visit Mana village (the last inhabited village before the Tibet border), Bhim Pul, and Vasudhara Falls. The surrounding Neelkanth peak watches over the sacred valley.
Descending through sacred confluences
Begin the return journey. Drive through the Panch Prayag — five sacred river confluences of Uttarakhand. Stop at Karnaprayag and Rudraprayag. These river meetings are considered extremely auspicious for spiritual cleansing.
The Yoga Capital of the World
Drive to sacred Rishikesh — attend the world-famous Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat. Explore Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. Final prayers and blessings as the yatra draws to its sacred close.
